Program Related Investments

We are going to begin making program related investments or PRIs for short. What's the best way to track in Blackbaud Grantmaking online? My first thought is noncash category. Help.

We don't track those grants in the system. Our CFO keeps track of those separately. I tried to set them up that way many years ago (Gifts Classic) and was unsuccessful. The information kept pulling into various reports. I'd be interested in hearing if there is a way to do it too. Thanks for posting this question.

We use BBGM and track PRIs in our system. While we recognize they are not grants, it allows us to easily keep track of all activities. In the Coding section of BBGM, we created a custom field that allows us to identify it as a PRI which makes for clean reporting. We also have a separate PRI agreement template.

Of course, I work very closely with our finance team to make sure we are all in agreement with reporting, etc.

@Tania Yannarilli Thank you for mentioning that the information kept pulling into your reports. That's why I want to set it up from the beginning as separate from the “cash” grants, since PRIs are loans. I'll keep you posted.
