The Development Office seeks a full-time Director of Annual and Campaign Giving to provide leadership for all fundraising efforts from Collegiate School parents, past parents, grandparents and alumni. This individual will be responsible for the future success of the School’s $4M+ annual fund and any upcoming campaign efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in individual fundraising with a focus on prospect and volunteer management. This individual will also approach the School’s fundraising initiatives with creativity and drive, providing cohesive leadership across all efforts. Additionally, the Director of Annual and Campaign Giving must possess an enthusiastic commitment to the importance of building and sustaining a diverse, just, inclusive, and equitable academic environment.
General Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Development, the Director of Annual and Campaign Giving is responsible for managing School-wide fundraising initiatives, fundraising communication, and fundraising volunteer management. Collaborating with a wide-variety of constituents across all elements of the School environment, this role is critical to creating a cohesive and comprehensive fundraising program supporting the mission of the School and its faculty, staff, students, and programs. This full-time position may require weekend or week night work.
Essential Duties:
- Oversees a comprehensive prospect management process that allows a cohesive approach to prospect solicitation across a variety of fundraising approaches, including but not limited to the Annual Fund, future campaigns, and the School’s benefit;
- Manages and executes all elements of a $4M+ Annual fund that is an essential part of the School’s budget;
- Develops, organizes, and monitors all annual fund related materials, including direct mail solicitations, a philanthropy guide and all accompanying pieces;
- Identifies, trains, motivates, and manages all fundraising volunteers, both focused on the Annual Fund and on any School-wide campaigns;
- Identifies leadership gift prospects, coordinates prospect research, manages combined solicitations, and ensures prospects are properly managed by staff and/or volunteer solicitation efforts;
- Ensures website and giving materials properly reflect methods of giving; manages gifts of securities/wire transfers in partnership with team members in the Business Office;
- Oversees an appropriate gift acknowledge process ensuring that donors feel appropriately acknowledged and thanked for their support;
- Develops and executes donor thank you events for Annual Fund donors;
- Works with Development team members, to ensure proper recording of donor information, gifts and to produce appropriate financial and donor statistical reports;
- Organizes phonathons, textathons, thank you writing campaigns and an annual community-wide Giving Day;
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree or higher preferred. Must possess a minimum of five to seven years of fundraising experience. Must be a strong communicator. Experience with Raiser’s Edge and GiveCampus preferred.

- Ability and willingness to participate fully in a dynamic day school located in New York City;
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends;
- General knowledge of constituent databases, reporting, and related technologies as they apply to K-12 education;
- Experience managing and motivating volunteers;
- Ability to prioritize and manage own schedule;
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others;
- Detail-oriented;
- Creative and strategic thinking abilities;
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing;
- Ability to multitask, keep calm under pressure, and treat everyone with respect;
- Displays curiosity, a positive attitude, flexibility, and a good sense of humor;
- Ability to follow all policies and procedures of the School as written in the employee and parent handbooks.
