Position Title: WSHU Raiser’s Edge Gift Processing Specialist

Reports to: Sr. Director of Strategy & Communications

Status: Temporary/Part-time, Non-exempt

Company Overview:

WSHU Public Radio is owned and operated by Sacred Heart University. WSHU is a NPR affiliated radio station playing news and classical music.

The Position:

The Raiser’s Edge Gift Processing Specialist is a part-time, two/three days a week, up to 20-hours, position that performs database and gift processing duties. This position works with and takes direction from the Sr. Director of Strategy & Communications and collaborates with the Membership Team to meet aggressive fundraising goals.

Essential Duties:

• Enter and update gift and donor records into new Raiser’s Edge NXT database.
• Assist with processing philanthropic donations and contributions, including but not limited to, gift entry, production of all acknowledgement letters, gifts linkages (events, proposals, soft crediting) and any follow-up with donors.
• Input daily contribution details, including in-kind gifts, into database in accordance with gift batch entry processes.
• Update donor records as prompted by gift information during gift entry, staff communication, returned mail, etc. Enter notes and provide documentation of changes.
• When appropriate, review and correct donor and mailing information.
• Respond to requests for donor and gift data in a timely manner via email or phone inquiries.
• Provide exceptional donor-relations service with professional verbal and written communications and timely follow up.
• Participate in staff meetings.

• Capability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to the work area.

• Excellent organization skills, oral and written skills.
• Effective at handling interpersonal interactions at all levels.
• Demonstrated computer and software skills including MS Word, Excel, database applications, and Microsoft Outlook for scheduling and communicating.
• Commitment to and understanding of maintaining confidential/personal information.
• Demonstrated customer service skills, demonstrated pattern of self-motivation, team work and a positive attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of demonstrated experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Two years of demonstrated experience and proficiency using Raiser’s Edge NXT.
• Nonprofit experience and public radio awareness preferred.
