What was your first job?

This great Just for Fun question is from All-Star Dawn Alonso! What was your first job? Does that place still operate/exist? Mine was a snowball stand called Lana's! It is still in existence, even 27 years later.

@Crystal Bruce - My first job was in the 12th grade working at a retirement home on Peachtree Road in Atlanta. And yes, it still exists. The upgrades are beautiful.

  • @Crystal Bruce Volunteering at a small hospital in the gift store. My first paid job was Hardee's. Worked there for 4 years. Crazy how fast time flies.

  • @Crystal Bruce Besides Baby sitting, my first real job was at Aubuchon Hardware and they are still around many, many years later!

  • @Crystal Bruce My first job was an office aide position in college. I worked in the Political Science Department of the University of Miami. It's still there haha!

  • @Crystal Bruce, I worked at Dairy Queen. The building where I worked is no longer there; the business was sold, torn down, and re-built in another location. Lots of fun memories there, and I'm still friends with one of my coworkers. The ironic thing is that I'm a semi-vegetarian and don't eat ice cream or burgers.

@Crystal Bruce my first job was at an ice cream shop in Boothbay, ME. It's long since closed.

My first real job was right after grad school I was hired by the Rainforest Foundation in NYC to set up their Raiser's Edge, transfer the data from FileMaker Pro, and answer phones and such. It was a super small shop, I think there were 7 of us. 23 years later, still working with RE. No longer answering phones!
Rainforest Foundation is still around. I have fond thoughts. Wish I hadn't left sometimes. I love NYC.

  • @Crystal Bruce My first job was as a clerk in the children's department of our local public library. It is still open and in the same location, but so much has changed inside. While I was there we converted from the traditional card catalog and cards stamped with due dates (hence my profile pic) to computers, barcodes, printouts, and scanners. I still kinda miss the cards and that clunky cabinet. ?

  • @Crystal Bruce My first real job (my first was a mother's helper!) was a clerk in Aubuchon Hardware Store in Well, ME. We had so much fun and great customers.
