What's Your Favorite Scary Movie? ?

Halloween is drawing closer and the ghouls are coming out to play!

Do you like scary movies? If so, what's your favorite?

Do you hate scary movies? If so, why?

I've watched way too many horror movies to count, but my favorite will always be 1996's Wes Craven classic, Scream. There are few movies that can put me right back in the time period, but that one always does!

  • @Bobby Steurer Love this game! I am not a horror, bloody, super scary movie fan. I just don't want to be that scared. That said, monster movies are awesome-cannot really happen :)!

    I can watch Hocus Pocus movies and silly Halloween movies all day long. But an old movie I loved was made in 1980, The Changeling with George C Scott. Super slow by today's standards but a good scary. Also love M. Night Shyamalan scary movies!

    I love Halloween movies, and I'm a big kid at heart. I like the not very scary movies. Some favorites that I watch every single year: Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Christine, Practical Magic, Bewitched, Addams Family, Bell, Book and Candle… and then the old classic monster movies, of course!

    @Kim Ashcraft I too love the not-very-scary movies but I'm in the “TNBC is a Christmas film” camp :D

  • @Rachel Cavalier Oh, there's a strong argument for TNBC being a Christmas film. You ain't wrong! :-)

  • @Kim Ashcraft I haven't thought of Practical Magic in a loooong time! You just unlocked some memories for me!

  • @Bobby Steurer It absolutely is. As is Die Hard.

  • @Coco Parham Hey, I'm down with the sillies, too! I don't know what it was about Hocus Pocus, but they seemed to play it every Halloween season for us in grade school. Maybe it was just the only Halloween-themed VHS we had on-file. Ha!

  • @Coco Parham The Nightmare Before Christmas….

    I lean more towards it not being a Halloween movie, too (although, I'll watch it leading up to Halloween). The reason some say it's a Christmas movie, is that Jack finds the door to Christmas after Halloween - Midnight, so technically on November 1. Not sure I would think of watching for Christmas, though.

    We watch Addams Family movies, Hocus Pocus, etc. We do not watch the scary stuff.

  • @Rachel Cavalier for me, TNBC can go either way - both Halloween and Christmas. I felt the same way about Krampus. For me, anything with a monster is at least part Halloween. :)

    @Coco Parham
    The Nightmare Before Christmas - it's one of my favourite Christmas films

  • @Kim Ashcraft Thanks! I have only seen it once. No judgement! I agree, Christmas movie!
