Hey, what's your favorite scary movie/book/game/etc.?
Think mine's always going to be Scream for sentimental reasons. I also really like Trick 'r Treat.
@Bobby Steurer I have a lot of favorites in this genre, but to try and narrow it down:
Book/stories: The Shining, Phantoms, The Mist, The Stand, The Strain
Series: Anything Mike Flannagan does, but specifically The Haunting of Hill House, Six Feet Under

Books - anything by Stephen King
@Marie Stark this was my Mom's favorite movie! She made all my kids watch it - such a classic. ?
@Bobby Steurer, I try to avoid scary things, but this year, I did read my first Stephen King book, Carrie (everyone's asked me if I liked the movie my whole life. While I don't think I will ever watch a movie version, I did enjoy the book. (My daughter's name is Margaret, so there was a bit of a role reversal, though I hope I'm nowhere near as horrible of a mother as Carrie's was!)
@Carrie Powell King's books have been very hit-or-miss when translated to film. The good ones are all-time classics and the bad ones are laughably silly. The original Carrie is really worth seeing, and honestly pretty scare-friendly.
@Christine Robertson I've always thought of Phantom as a dark romance (between Christine and the Phantom), but I guess it really is a scary story. :-) I love it either way!
@Bobby Steurer I remember being most frightened by Poltergeist (the movie) when I was a kid. Stephen King's Pet Sematary freaked me out so much when I read it as a teen-ager that I would put the book outside my bedroom door before going to sleep. ?

@Bobby SteurerNot so much a game but a thing to do! Where we live has, The Tale of the Blue Dog. It is a ghost dog legend. Well close by to the farm where this all happened is a Restaurant called the Blue Dog Saloon where we like to eat. Sightings of the blue dog have been reported in the area for centuries.
