Job Summary

The Temporary Data Analyst's primary responsibility is to process and manage gifts using Raiser’s Edge, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of donor information and contributions. This temporary position is ideal for someone with strong data management skills and a passion for supporting educational initiatives through effective gift management.

Essential Functions & Tasks

  • Gift Processing: Accurately enter and update donor information and gift records in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Data Management: Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the donor database by regularly auditing and cleaning data.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on gift processing activities and donor contributions for internal review.
  • Donor Acknowledgment: Manage the preparation and distribution of donor acknowledgment letters and receipts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the advancement and business teams to ensure seamless integration of gift processing with fundraising efforts.
  • Compliance: Ensure all gift processing activities comply with relevant data protection regulations and school policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in gift/financial transaction processing, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with donor management systems, specifically Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in data analysis or data management are advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Gift Processing: Oversee the processing and acknowledgment of gifts, ensuring timely and accurate recording.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Advancement team to support fundraising campaigns and events with data insights.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices in data management.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Collaborate with the Business Office to reconcile donations and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.
  • Data Management: Maintain and optimize donor databases, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze donor data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for increased engagement and donations.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and analysis. Ability to spot and correct errors in data.
  • Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on fundraising performance, donor demographics, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Donor Segmentation: Develop and implement strategies for donor segmentation to tailor communication and engagement efforts.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge for donor management and financial reporting.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies as needed. Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive donor information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Commitment to ethical standards in data management and donor relations.

Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. May require lifting to 30lbs. Adequate physical mobility, dexterity, and strength to participate in school environment and able to ambulate across campus.
