Building Focus

I’ve been accused (more than once) of lacking focus in my life. It’s probably true because while I have certain things I love to do, I can quickly be distracted from a task and drawn to another seemingly unrelated task all at a moment’s notice. Focus-shifting is an art form I’ve perfected. It may be a bad character trait in some scenarios but being able to shift my focus has also served me well.


Case in point: last year we ran a What’s New in Financial Edge NXT class that was jammed with great stuff but didn’t allow for a focus on any one feature. That may be good if you want to see new features throughout Financial Edge NXT, but for those of us who want to learn small sections of the system in a short amount of time, I think we’ve come up with a better idea.


This year, each quarter we’ll release a course dubbed Feature Focus. It will be a 90-minute course where the sole objective is to give you hands-on time with one feature in Financial Edge NXT. We’ll talk about the purpose of the feature, give you some real face time with the feature, ask you some thought-provoking discussion questions, and then let you get back to your day.
