Oh Excel, how I love thee, let me count the ways... then use a formula to graph it. Excel really is a power house of a tool and something I've used everyday of my professional life. So how great is it that Financial Edge has add-ins to make it even more robust?!? With over 600 people in attendance, I'm not the only one interested in these helpful additions. In this session we did a review of the add-ins that are available, with a concentration on Journal Entry and Budgets. Q: Can you remind me how to install an excel plugin?

A: Depending on your system, you can go through the Marketplace or from Control Panel. From FE NXT go to Control Panel > Applications >Available Apps > click Connect under which ever one you need.


Q: Does anything auto populate for the Journal Entry Batch Creator?

A: Yes! When you enter an account number, the corresponding account description and class are auto-populated. Also, when you enter a project ID, the project description is populated.


Q: Are there any budgets that you can't work with using the Budget Add-in?

A: You cannot edit finalized or inactive budgets. You can also create a new scenario ID as needed.
