How are you celebrating Black History Month this year?

This week, we’d like to introduce Kylea Johnson from the Centralia College Foundation. She’s part of a small team of just two raising $1M+ each year. She manages all the operations, and works in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT ®

, Financial Edge NXT ® and Award Management.











What area are you in (geographically) and why do you love it?

I live in Olympia, Washington. I dare you to find a more beautiful place! I love walking around town in the summer (or fantastic snowy winters) and admiring the view of the Olympic Mountains across the sound. It’s also a great place for skiers, hikers, and horse riders (like me!). If you plan to visit the Pacific Northwest, definitely take some time to take a ferry.




What do you enjoy about the Blackbaud Community?

Everyone here is so knowledgeable. Even the toughest questions get thoroughly combed over by several community members—and we’re all similarly obsessed with finding a solution. Some superstar never fails to step in with a workaround or solution to whatever we’re complaining about, and it turns out things aren’t so bad after all.




What is something that you never thought you’d enjoy at your current job that gets you up and motivates you now?

I absolutely love organizing my data so I can make complicated reports. So much so that I’ve just been accepted to a Master of Science in Business Analytics program! I start in June, and I am beyond excited.
