Background processing of long operations

The next time you generate correspondence or assign reviewers, you’ll notice that instead of waiting for it to process you can immediately continue your Grantmaking work. Don’t worry, Grantmaking is still working on your stuff! It will notify you:

  • Once the process begins.
  • When your results are ready.
  • If warnings or errors occur.

Need to log out while results are being generated? No big deal! When you log back in, Grantmaking will let you know whether the operation completed.

We plan on rolling out this background processing improvement to other long-running processes, including:

  • Generating ad-hoc reports.
  • Merging to PDF.
  • Exporting and printing search lists.
  • Creating request requirements.

These are currently unscheduled, but are expected to be developed and released over the course of the next several months.
