Blackbaud Community Guidelines

The Blackbaud Community is a peer-based space for discussions around best practices and information sharing between our customers, partners, and anyone interested in learning more about Blackbaud’s products. To maintain a positive atmosphere, please keep the following guidelines in mind when participating in the Community. 

Getting Started 

There is no obligation to post in Blackbaud Community, and all contributions are voluntary. If you’d like to post in discussion forums, respond to blog posts, and view certain content, you will need to create an account using your Blackbaud ID. We encourage all members who would like to take advantage of the robust networking opportunities to complete their profiles, and to adjust their privacy settings to what they are most comfortable with. 

Protect Your Privacy 

Keep in mind that this is a public space. Do not post personal contact information (yours or anyone else’s) or share information that should be kept confidential. If you wish to exchange business contact information with a member, we recommend doing so using the site’s personal message feature. 

Content Do’s:

• Search for topics before posting a question. It may be a common question that already has a lot of useful answers you can learn from. 
• Be descriptive (but pithy) in your discussion post titles. Being specific will help catch the attention of those who are also interested in or have experience with that topic. 
• Provide as much context as you can in your post to aid other members in giving helpful responses. 
• Mark your question as “answered” when appropriate so members can devote time to unanswered questions. 
• Be helpful and encouraging, and respect that members have varying levels of familiarity and knowledge of the products. Some have been using a product for 20 years, while others may have just started. 
• Keep in mind that your situation, configuration, or implementation may vary from a member sharing a solution. Apply good judgement when evaluating advice and ensure that it will work for your organization. 
• Engage with content around the site to make this a more useful and fulfilling experience for everyone! We encourage you to post questions and helpful hints, respond to members’ questions, “like” questions and responses, and ask questions and comment on blog posts. 

Content Don’ts:

• Profanity, derogatory, hateful, or demeaning language of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban.  
• Do not post content soliciting business or donations, unless that information has been requested by another member. 
• Do not share any confidential information or anything that would violate contractual agreements or non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to which you and/or your organization are a party.
