Creating a BAM to Banner Interface

Over the years, several colleagues have reached out to ask how we manage the interface between College of Charleston’s Blackbaud Award Management (BAM) and Banner.

To give you a high-level overview, our process works as follows:

• Data Transmission: We utilize the BAM API to push initial "Award Offers" directly into Banner.
• Student Integration: Students accept or decline their awards entirely within Banner (which handles all award types).
• Feedback Loop: We run an automated process that identifies awards originating from BAM. If a student's status changes from "Offered" to another status (e.g., Accepted or Declined), that updated information is synced back to BAM.
