Over the years, several colleagues have reached out to ask how we manage the interface between College of Charleston’s Blackbaud Award Management (BAM) and Banner.
To give you a high-level overview, our process works as follows:
- Data Transmission: We utilize the BAM API to push initial "Award Offers" directly into Banner.
- Student Integration: Students accept or decline their awards entirely within Banner (which handles all award types).
- Feedback Loop: We run an automated process that identifies awards originating from BAM. If a student's status changes from "Offered" to another status (e.g., Accepted or Declined), that updated information is synced back to BAM.
