Digital Strategist

Job Summary:

We are looking for a digital
fundraising expert with strong project management and technical skills,
to help guide and advise your own portfolio of nonprofit clients on
their digital fundraising strategy.

This is a client-facing role. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a room as a confident project manager on day one is a must.

As a Digital Strategist,
you will serve as a detail-oriented project manager and hands-on
consultant. This includes immediately leading client meetings and
working directly on project work to deliver industry-leading digital
fundraising, acquisition, stewardship, retention and engagement
activations, and projects while managing timeline and scope.

Strong project management skills are a
must. You will be responsible for managing multiple clients
simultaneously with multiple projects for each client. You will be
working independently for smaller and medium sized retainers and
projects, while working alongside other senior staff members to support
larger and more complex retainers and accounts.

Project Management + Execution (80%)

  • Serve as the primary point of
    contact for assigned clients, leading project management efforts by
    coordinating meetings, managing timelines, and driving projects forward
    to successful completion.
  • Lead or support ongoing calls with
    clients and translate deliverables to actionable tasks for yourself,
    clients, and team members supporting the accounts.
  • Develop, collaborate and execute results-focused digital strategies for clients while innovating and suggesting new ideas.
  • Execute on production and
    implementation of technology recommendations, projects and plans with
    support from designers and development team.
  • This position is expected to write
    email/social copy, edit copy, and provide creative direction to our
    design staff for the creation of campaign imagery and design with
    oversight from your manager and senior team members on accounts.
    Communicate and assign tasks to writers, designers, and other team
    members as needed.
  • Proactively recognize and assess client and team needs and prepare potential solutions to meet those needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or otherwise identified.

Digital Strategy (20%)

  • Participate in and/or facilitate
    discovery sessions with clients to identify their digital needs, goals,
    opportunities, and challenges.
  • Develop customized campaign and
    creative briefs to present to clients that address the strategic
    direction of the project and outline specific deliverables, key messages
    and goals with collaborative support from affiliated team members.
  • Work closely with your manager and strategy team members to identify other areas of growth for campaigns.
  • Utilize existing processes to measure and evaluate success of campaigns and follow processes to build strategic plans.
  • Evaluate the results of campaigns
    and appropriately contribute to presenting results and recommendations
    to clients that are centered upon growth, innovation, and proven
    success.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of full-time experience
    working at a nonprofit or digital agency with 1+ years being a power
    user of Luminate Online or equivalent online fundraising/email
    platform(s).
  • 1+ years of digital fundraising
    experience - specifically digital strategy and campaign experience.
    Healthcare, hospital foundation, or Cause and Cure experience is a plus.
    Asana experience is a plus.
  • Experience working on multiple email
    marketing campaigns, audience segmentation, digital campaign
    automation, donor acquisition campaigns, running paid social ads, and
    cohesive digital fundraising strategy program implementations.
  • You are comfortable completing email HTML implementation, quality assurance, and post-campaign reporting.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong
    relationships with clients. Excellent rapport-building and
    communication skills with the ability to grow and cultivate
    relationships with clients and internal team members in a virtual
    environment.
  • Create creative briefs and first
    drafts of campaign creative from day one, including facilitating client
    brainstorming sessions, developing key messages, and recommending email
    schedules and tactics (e.g., countdown clocks and forward-style emails).
  • Strong copywriting and editing
    skills are a must. You are able to manage creative editing rounds with
    clients. This includes the ability to seek and facilitate feedback from
    clients and implement changes in creative.
  • Project manage the development and
    implementation of strategic campaigns and technical projects, including
    websites, microsites, donation forms, and TeamRaisers.
  • Lead projects through every phase,
    including discovery, briefs, design, development, quality assurance,
    launch, and post launch support, in collaboration with cross functional
    teams while consistently exceeding client expectations.
  • You are comfortable with AI products
    like Claude and know how and when to effectively use AI, have the
    expertise to protect against 'workslop', and can provide innovative ways
    to incorporate AI into your work
  • Must be able to work in a
    collaborative workplace. Specifically collaborating with team members on
    each task before delivering work to clients is a critical part of
    ensuring we deliver thoughtful and consistent outcomes.
  • Success in our fully virtual

  • You must have valid work authorization already in place for the USA and be physically located in the USA for this role.

Salary Range

Compensation will be based on experience and location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 USD.
