What’s New
We recently released several new features in Financial Edge NXT web view!
Budgets: Copy and forecast budget scenarios. Under General ledger, Budgets, you can now copy and forecast budget scenarios.
When you add a budget scenario, you can choose to copy budgeted or actual amounts from one fiscal year to another. When you copy current year actual figures, you can project actual figures for the remainder of the year. This helps create the budget for the next fiscal year based on current year activity (prior to the end of the current year).
TIP: To copy and forecast from an existing scenario, select More, Copy and forecast from a budget's action bar.
Load accounts for budget scenarios. Under General ledger, Budgets, you can now load accounts to your budget scenarios based on one or more filters. This workflow saves time and improves your budgeting process.
TIP: To load accounts into an existing scenario, when editing, select Load accounts from a budget's action bar.
Account distribution report for Fixed Assets. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the Account Distribution Report for Fixed Assets in web view. This report lists depreciation activity by General Ledger account number. After you add the report, you can view, edit, export, add to favorites, or delete as necessary.
For more information, see Account Distribution Report for Fixed Assets.
Statement of Functional Expenses. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the Statement of Functional Expenses report in web view. This report provides functional expense information over a specified period of time.
For more information, see Statement of Functional Expenses.
What’s Next
We are currently working on several features and enhancements for Financial Edge NXT web view. Here are some of the updates you will see in upcoming releases:
Budgets – You will soon be able to increase/decrease budgets in Financial Edge NXT web view!
Treasury — We’re introducing updates to Treasury's deposits and Miscellaneous (Misc.) Payments in Financial Edge NXT in the coming weeks. Misc. Payments replaces Cash Receipts in the database view, so you'll no longer have access to those records there. Bank accounts, credit card accounts, and Treasury reports are not impacted by these changes and customers with Accounts Receivable are not part of this release.
To learn more about the changes, view the tutorial. If you want to participate in the EAP, click here to complete the survey.
Attachments — For security purposes, we are updating how attachments are downloaded in database view and WebPurchasing.
We will now scan all attachments with anti-virus scanning to improve your security experience. Attachments will be accessed via a shortcut link (URL extension) that will open to a Financial Edge NXT landing page, allowing you to access and download the file.
Bank Feed (Yodlee) — We are upgrading our Yodlee/Fastlink APIs in Financial Edge NXT to improve performance and offer better user experience. This upgrade also supports open banking.
Payables Reports — The Aged Payables reports will soon be available in web view.
Payables Business Rules — You will soon manage Payables business rules in web view. Business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements.
Receivables – Receivables will be offered as a read-only Preview. We'll monitor your feedback and make improvements as we prepare for general availability.
Permissions -- Manage all user security from web view.
Total web solution
As we communicated to you earlier this year, in our commitment to deliver a total web solution, we are moving database view features completely into webview, with an initial focus on features that are less impactful to your day-to-day.
We are delivering these updates progressively in parallel with new capabilities in webview, to continue to make this as seamless as possible for your organization! Later this month, we will "turn off" the following features in database view:
- General ledger processing
- VCO
- View system statistics
- Post
- Validate database
- Enter beginning balances
- Lock beginning balances
- Update fund transaction requirements
- Account Codes
- Fund Configuration
- Transaction Codes
- Tables
- Attributes
- Fields
- Interfunds

I have not heard anything about Accounting Queue moving to Web View in FENXT. With all modules/functions eventually moving to the Web View, what is Blackbaud's plan for Accounting Queue?
Hey Lisa. We do plan to provide the capability to schedule reports in web view, but other Queue functionality is not currently on the roadmap. We will review adding other Queue processes at a later date.
In the database view you are able to build and save queries to run reports or pull data analytics. Will there be a query function in the web view where you can do something equivalent?
Hey Janet! Yes, we will have query functionally in web view. I recommend attending the Financial Edge NXT Product update briefing in a couple weeks. I believe query will be discussed.
