Enrollment Management Dashboard Using API and Google Sheets?

Hi all,


I am very new to the API world so excuse any ignorance or silly questions in advance! My scenario is this following I was wondering if someone has tackled this using API and or something similar and could provide guidance. 


We have a template spreadsheet (all data and names are fabricated) to track our re-enrollment contracts, new student contracts, holds, etc. so we can budget and plan for the following school year. There are formulas built in the spreadsheet to give us further insights and places to allow comments. The ability to have it in google drive allows easy access for key stakeholders. I know I can get all of this information in pieces and parts from the enrollment management module in Blackbaud, but it is not as comprehensive or sophisticated. 


Ideally, the spreadsheet would call on the database as opposed to manual entry by our admissions team. The date contract received column would populate with the contract was received, and the hold or not returning columns would be indicated, and new students that are accepted would populate that tab and then their decision would be indicated. This data would be pulled in to the summary tab and formulas there would be applied.


Again, I don't know if this is possible or if I am totally off base here and I just need to continue with manual entry. Any advice would greatly be appreciated!
