Bank Reconciliation Errors?

I have had this problem for the last 4 months when performing bank reconciliations.  Everything reconciles and matches the bank statement and the GL cash account and bank statement match yet I keep getting this error on the last page:

Your cleared transactions balance is out of balance by $0.00

Your GL cash account balance is out of balance by $0.00

We have both NXT and Database view and either instance of Financial Edge gives me the same error and won't let me finish and click Reconcile Now.  Has anyone seen this before?  I have posted all Journal Entries and Sub-ledgers.  It is really frustrating.  I kept thinking a timing issue was going to resolve itself, but after 4 months I'm pulling my hair out!

  • Any
chance you have data with more than 2 decimal places (e.g. $1.005)?
Unfortunately, you can import more decimals even if the business
rules are set at 2 decimal places. If you have any, this is the
kind of weirdness you will run into. Trust me. Been
    there!!!

  • Sannyasin,

Thank you!  That was it.  I got it fixed and could finally reconcile.  Thanks for the help!!

  • Awesome! Glad that was it and solvable!
  • I have a Bank Reconciliation error.  A cash receipt was entered for $300.  It should have been $3000.  Rather than enter a new cash receipt for the difference of $2700, I entered a cash receipt for a negative $300 and a positive $3000.  It should have added a net of $2700 to my cash account.  That is what it looks like on the cash receipts report.  However, when it posted to the GL, it posted $3300 to the cash account.  Now my bank rec is off by $600.  I have sent screenshots to the Blackbaud rep who I started a case with.  Hopefully they can help me deal with this issue.  If not, does anyone have experience with fixing this error?  I've tried a cash receipts batch to reverse the glitch as well as a journal entry.  Nothing seems to make the error go away.
