URI - Production and Developer Sandbox
Ephantus Kiragu
Are there different URIs for dev and production? I just want to be sure when testing with postman, especially creating resources, I don't mess things up. I haven't been able to identify different URIs, yet, looking through the documentation.

Hey
Ephantus Kiragu
,
If you're referring to the endpoint URIs, then no there are not different URIs for dev and production. Where the API call is made is determined by the OAuth Authorization flow where a user selects which environment the app is authorized to make API calls to. So if an organization has a dev and production environment, a user will need to authorize the app the make calls to each one. The OAuth process will return an
access_token
for each environment. Here are some links to resources that may help:
This explains the Blackbaud customer data model and illustrates how an org can have a test environment and a production environment:

This explains the Authorization code flow. Step 2 is when the user selects and environment to authorize:

This is the Authorization code flow tutorial:

Let me know if this documentation helps.
Thanks!
