Sending a Vendor's Banking Information When Creating Vendor via API

I would like to send Banking Information when creating a vendor. That is the vendors Bank Name, Bank Routing Number and Account Number. The Create Vendor API (https://developer.sky.blackbaud.com/docs/services/57a342f1d7dcde1c28a749fe/operations/CreateVendor) does not appear to support sending those fields.

However, when a Financial Edge admin is logged into the application and selects to edit a vendor under EFT Bank Account section, these fields for Bank Name, Account and Routing are visible as shown on the attached reference image.

(I) How can I populate this fields via the API? Is there another API call that sends the information to save under this section?

(II) If its not possible to populate the fields via the API, Can I send that information via custom fields when the vendor is created and then an admin user can copy that data manually to the appropriate fields

(II)(a) Is it possible to encrypt the custom fields?

(II) (a)(i) Would it be possible to use the kind of encryption used to send banking data on the custom fields sent during vendor creation?

  • Hello,

I found 4 or 5 posts about this same limitation/question but could not see any response from the Blackbaud team. Some of these posts are pretty old (a few months ago).

Can we please have feedback from the Blackbaud Dev Team? It will be helpful to figure out what to do when we need to post banking information during Vendors' creations.

    Thanks

Were you able to figure this out? I would also like to be able to send EFT Bank Account info along while creating a vendor via the API.

    Hi,
No we had to do without it…
