Pulling all purchase data into a dashboard

Hello,


I am hoping to use the Blackbaud API to help a client pull the list of donations made from Raiser's Edge NXT and into a Data Studio or Tableau dashboard through an API endpoint.


I'm currently digging through all this documentation, but I'm hoping somebody here can save me some time and just tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree.

• Can I pull a complete list of donations, with their values and dates, through an API endpoint?
• Is the Payments API the correct API for this purpose?

It looks to me like the API will only let me call a single transaction at a time, but I'm hoping someone can clarify that.

The Payments API is intended mainly for processing payments and not retrieving a list of payments.  The Payments API works with Blackbaud Merchant Services directly and so may not have the full donation metadata either.


You may want to take a look at the Gift API which allows you to access data in Raiser's Edge.  This Gift List endpoint may give you what you're looking for.
