Hi Kathy,

I'm one of the product managers for Financial Edge NXT working on this project, and I can hopefully shed some light on some things. Support is not ending in December, 2020. Back in late 2018, we announced at bbcon that we were no longer developing Payroll 7 and would begin to phase it out. In 2019, we announced that again both at bbcon and on separate dates, and a few months ago we announced that you would no longer be able to process payroll in Payroll 7 after July 31, 2021. We have also worked with two great payroll partners who are dedicated to giving you a smooth transition, and a robust feature set for payroll and human capital management.

The two vendors are Paycor, which you can find at https://www.paycor.com/nonprofit-hr-software and PrimePay, which you can find at https://primepay.com/blackbaud. We work closely with both of them, they both have integration to Financial Edge NXT General Ledger (in the form of journal entry batches to post your gross wage and employer expenses, liabilities, and cash), and I would encourage you to begin to evaluate both vendors to see which fits your needs best. Through our SKY API feature set, you can also use any 3rd party payroll vendor you wish that can send calls to those endpoints to create a batch.


There will be further communications from Blackbaud soon about what is happening after July 31, 2021, but that's the key date to keep in mind now so you have a good payroll solution after that time.
