Save application and share with others

Hello all.


I was unable to find an answer to this question in either the discussion history, or Knowledgebase. 


When an applicant is working on an application that is powered by Blackbaud Grantmaking, can they save the application and share it with others?


I have a grant writing background, and I know from personal experience that it's helpful to have this option.

    Yes there is
    a feature in their account that they can “send” an application to
    someone else to work on.  It’s called “Transfer to new owner”
    and it’s a button located to the right of their saved/in progress

    Thank you. I remember learning about that when I took an online applications class; I thought that was for when staff members leave an organization or something.


    But if an applicant transfers to the new owner, can the applicant still send out the application?

    I haven’t
    used this feature much but what happens basically is whoever the
    original applicant holder transfer the application to, becomes the
    current applicant holder.  The new person can then make any
    additions or changes and submit, or transfer back to the original
    applicant holder.

     

    It’s sort of
    clunky, and I personally think it’s better to have a shared e-mail
    account for an organization so no one has to do this and they can
    just sign in and make changes as needed, but it still
    functions.

    There are actually 2 types of feature - the transfer to new owner as mentioned above - and you can also switch on an option to email a copy of the application - so the user can either email a version to themself or to another mail address. This will leave the application still with the original users account - but its a nice tool to share a copy for review purposes, it comes over like a webpage link/PDF view i believe.


    Both buttons can be switched on in the forms manager > Settings > account designer
