Adjustment transactions reference not showing in the general ledger on some account

We are using FE NXT (just went live in July) and I have set up adjustment categories in the cash receipts module and when I enter an adjustment or even deposits the reference is not showing on some general ledger accounts.  For example, I entered something to an account and cash, and the reference shows in one account, but not the cash account.  This is very troublesome when our CFO is trying to run reports and do some analysis on an account (for example interest and dividends) and all she is seeing is deposit.  I thought I had clicked all the boxes during setup, but obviously missing something.  Has anybody else run in to this problem?  Does anybody have a fix for it?  I've looked in the knowledgebase and found a couple of things, but don't have all the "buttons" they tell you to click in the step by step instructions.

I think your Cash Account has the "Prevent data entry for this account" Checked.  The administrator needs to uncheck that box..

Hi Sharelle,


The issue might be with your Posting Information settings which I believe you can only fix in the database view. Once in the database, go to, for example, Accounts Payable then select Configuration and then Posting Information. This allows you to change what information shows up for a number of different types of transactions. For a Cash Management adjustment - you want to make sure you have Adjustment Reference in there, not just Adjustment Type.  I've included a screen shot of how I have this set up in my system - hopefully the image comes though.

Thank you for this.  The problem was that I hadn't done it on both the credit and debit side of things - I didn't realize I had to do it for both.  When I changed what I wanted to appear, I only changed it on the screen that showed up when I went to that screen.

It was because I didn't change the credit and debit side of things.  I didn't realize I had to change both - thought it would be a global change when I changed one.

Agreed, it could be clearer - the little radio button for credit and debit isn't obvious. Glad to hear you solved the problem - nothing worse than a GL report full of super vague transactions! ?

Exactly.  I'm just glad I figured it out after 3 months of data and not 12:-)
