Updating Activity Group Leaders??

We are trying to use the API to work around the limitations of the front end's capabilities and the shortcomings of even the new import tool to change, remove, or add leaders of activity sections.  After reviewing the School Endpoint Reference, it doesn't appear to me that the API allows for any changes to existing Academic, Activity, Advisory, and Athletic groups other than adding student enrollment.  Am I missing something?
