Time for Blackbaud to complete the development of SKY

It is taking up too much time to learn SKY using a beta version of the product. I am wasting a lot of Blackbaud's time as well as I try to find answers where there none, yet. Blackbaud should extend the drop-dead rate for using the Classic view until the point when SKY is finished and users have had time to learn how to use it. If there is a reason for the current October 2021 drop dead date, we should know and understand why.

Comments

  • The reason for the drop dead date is because Internet Explorer is discontinuing support for Silverlight which is the platform on which BBG Classic is built.

From the Microsoft website: Microsoft Silverlight will reach the end of support on October 12, 2021. There is no longer Silverlight support for Chrome, Firefox, or any browser using the Mac operating system.
  • Thank you, Deena.

I tried responding online, but was not
successful. I am not fluent with group communications.

Has there been any effort to delay the October
12th date, not just from Blackbaud, but from the
    universe of users?

  • Carolyn - I am not sure Microsoft would continue their support of Silverlight after October 12 because of Blackbaud Grantmaking.
