Conversion to etapestry from Giftworks

Does anyone have experience with the Giftworks conversion to etapestry. I'd like to connect if you do! Thanks

  • Yes - we did this for our operation in New Zealand.

We exported all the account data into a spreadsheet, cleaned it up manually and then imported it into eTapestry. Note you can only import 1,000 records at a time and, generally, only one country (of the Constituent) at a time.

We did individuals and organisations separately.

Once we had all the accounts into eTap, we then exported all the donations from GiftWorks in the same way and imported them iinto eTapestry. This, is a much higher volume operation but very little cleaning up is required.

It is important to import things which, although you will not use in the long-term, are needed for data migration. We, therefore, have a GiftWorks ID field in eTap but, once the migration was done, we disabled it so it does not appear for new accounts.

Happy to answer any further questions.

  • Hi Rob,
Thanks for responding to my question on conversion to
etapestry from Giftworks. Your response was helpful. It
sounds like you had a standard conversion package from Blackbaud,
and handled the Giftworks conversion yourselves. Is that
correct? We gave Blackbaud a copy of our giftworks database,
and they are handling the conversion.

I'm wondering how it was for you and/or your staff to adapt to
using etapestry after using Giftworks. Is there anything that you
think would be helpful for me to keep in mind as I make the
    switch? :Let me know-

    Thank you!

    Joy
