Raisers Edge SQL access

Hi,


I am new to Raisers Edge NXT. Is there a way to get access to our hosted database. We are trying to use API option to create data feed for a temporary data warehouse at our end.

Sky API is useful but I cannot find all the endpoints or tables that I want to reference. Ex: I want to access TABLEENTRIES, RECORDS and few others for our reporting


If anyone has any ideas it would be very helpful!!

We have the same needs, therefore contracted with BB for daily delivery of our data file (backup). If there's another way, we would be most interested, as we didn't originally budget for this additional annual expense when we upgraded to NXT and moved into the cloud. Thanks!

Charity Automator is an app available in the BB marketplace that does precisely what you are looking for.


Full disclosure, this is our product.


This tool has a powerful ETL (Extract Transform and Load) engine that can power a Data Warehouse with your RE NXT data (as well as FE NXT, LuminateOnline and other non BB sources). Charity Automator is fully managed, therefore no need to code against the API or maintain infrastructure. Setup is quick and you are live within hours with access to an SQL database. Your data can be refreshed multiple times per day, thus not limiting you to daily updates.


The data accessible does remain what is available through the SKY API, however we do have access code table and table entries. The Records table (in DB view) is generally Constituents in SKY API (without non-constituents). Although the information available is limited compared to accessing the SQL dump of DB view, the data model we provide is much more simplified. For example, you don't need to get to the TableEntries table to find the Title1 for a constituent, the description sits in text on the constituent record. It is much easier (and faster) to query and report against our data model.

We at Zuri Group have developed a tool called Aqueduct that does just that. It uses the Blackbaud SKY API to create the data feed and auto-create a data warehouse at the source of your choosing. Should the data update or new API endpoints be created by Blackbaud then the tool has an auto-updating function to bring the new data elements down to your secure site. From there you can report on or manipulate the data however you choose. Our goal with this was to make a tool that used standard Blackbaud APIs, securely pulled the data to a secure site of yours, and ensure the data auto-updated for you.
