Application - Connect to Environment - How?

I am trying to write a C# batch program to make calls to your API. I have followed all of your getting started steps. I created an application and generated an application ID, but I cannot get the application "connected" to the environment with which I want to work. I have contacted the environment administrator and suggested he follow these suggested steps.


1. Visit the Application page.

2. Select "Connect App" and paste in the application ID.

3. Select "Save".

4. The application is then shown on the "Connected apps" tab.


My environment administrator says he cannot "find" the "Application" page in Financial Edge NXT. Do you have any ideas as to where he might find it, so I can get the application connected? Is it possibly a permissions issue with his account?

    Hi Jack Miller‍ . For Financial Edge NXT, the "Applications" page should be accessible to environment administrators under the "Control panel" menu as explained at https://developer.blackbaud.com/skyapi/docs/applications/createapp#connect-your-app


    Please let me know if your environment admin does not see a link for "Applications" under "Control panel".

    Thank you for the response. I did not realize there were "admins" and "environmental admins". We discovered that only 1 of the 4 admins had the "environmental admin" permission, but was able to grant that to me.

    I am running into a problem where I can see a batch journal entry in the FE application, but not in the API. In addition, a batch journal retrieved by the API does not contain the same data as what I see in the FE application. This leads me to believe I am looking at 2 different databases somehow. There are 2 listed in the FE application. Does anyone know how to change the API to access the "other" database?

    Hello Michael,


    I have connected an API application to one of the apps in the user's Financial Edge (FE Network Database - 6701) environment. I am trying to figure out how to connect to the other app environment in the user's Financial Edge (FE Network Additional Database - 6701) as well. And how do I distinguish between the two databases when making API calls? Do I need a separate application maybe?


    Note: I do have environment admin privileges in their Financial Edge NXT. Is there a means to add this environment to my application manually?
