Reports for Multiple Webview Users

I would like to have the ability to restrict users to their department information in budget reports, etc. Originally, I set up account security in database view for each user to only be able to access certain accounts on their budgets. This became a problem because of our overlap in certain departments approvals. I have now created certain reports that filter to the department's accounts. Is there a way that I can filter a user to only have access to the reports that I created for him/her?

  • Does the database security not carryforward to NXT? I am subscribing to this topic.
  • I have wondered too about allowing the user access to only certain reports, but I do not see that. Seems that users get to see all the reports in the list, but when they run them only the accounts that they have access to will print on the report. So I think the control is in which accounts you give access to, not which report.

This does create a problem for me when users share an account. For example travel: multiple users charge to the same account so have to give them access to the account but then that means that all the users can potentially see other people's travel expenses. That I am not keen about.

  • I have attempted to use the security settings in Administration by giving access to only accounts necessary. The issue I run into is with the user's ability to do exactly what Sylvia is speaking about. I have some accounts that multiple people will share on certain instances. If I were to build additional approval rules that would be for those certain accounts, does anyone know if this would give the ability to process expenses without giving the user access to those accounts in reports?
