Allocations

Hi,

We are approaching the end of our first year with FE NXT. Our policies indicate that each program should be allocated the same amount of indirect and fringe, from the pools that are already set up. Now I have several programs which have maxed their budgets, so I want to remove them from the pool allocations. But, this will result in the remaining programs having a higher percentage allocation at year end than the ones that terminated prior to year end. Has anyone dealt with this issue in FE? In general the Allocations seem very cumbersome to deal with.

I'm also looking to employ the allocations module and would like to hear from anyone who can share their experience. Tinsley - regarding your issue of being over budget. It's important to allocate a fair share of indirect costs across the board. It this puts you over budget on a particular program, then that's the reality you want it to reveal. Grant reporting is a completely different animal. You simply cap the amounts you claim to the funding org. Does that make sense?
