Grants Management

Hello,

We're on the receiving end of grants and are using the grants module in FE to manage 50+ open grants at any given time. It's good, but there are some serious shortfalls. We're not able to run reports (except a static export or queries) and the data fields are limited (utilizing attributes to build-out functionality). In addition, notifications are limited to Action Items that land on the database home page. Not useful at all. Does anyone else have similar issues? Does anyone use the RE Opportunities module? I'm wondering if this is a better option to manage grants received. Thank you.

  • Hi Lori, I'm new to our organization and one of my first tasks was to evaluate whether using the Grant module was worth it. I'm trying to find some good training on it but haven't had much luck yet. Playing around with it has left me with some of your concerns about functionality. Thinking about just creating a super cool spreadsheet instead. If you have any training suggestions and could point me in the right direction I'd be thrilled. Thanks :-)

    Hi Debby, The biggest benefit for me is quick access to the grant record in one place. I'm happy to talk on the phone or meet with you over Teams to show you how I use it. I can export the data to excel using a query, which works fine. For that reason using the module is better for me than using excel. lwamser@nhla.org
