1099 NEC form

Is anyone having issues with the 1099 -NEC process delivering a form that does not match the IRS approved form? It's 4 squares rather than 3 up? Chat support is telling me to buy the forms from Blackbaudforms.com which looks exactly like the forms I have (the IRS approved form) and nothing like the form produced by the process.

Hi Angela,

the vendor / Recipient copies for FE are a blank page with perforations that should print 4 up on the sheet. These are specifically for FE and sold through blackbaud forms. If you buy third party forms, they may use a different format and thus may not align at all. So I would buy the blank sheets specifically for FE if you plan print. otherwise, you can efile through aatrix , and they will do all the forms for you. Just food for thought.

Why do you sell the 3 Up forms in Blackbaud if these are not what we use? I do not file with our state. I file federal. This is what the help page says:

1099-MISC & 1099-NEC IRS Copies (Federal Copy A)
To print the IRS 1099 copies, use the red 3 up, pre-printed official paper. Be sure to check the print alignment so data inside the boxes can be captured on the red forms.

We use 3d party 4up forms (Amazon I think last year?) and have not had any issues.

I asked support this same question about the forms they sell on Blackbaud forms and no answer. I received a message yesterday saying I would hear back before the day was done but nothing. The 3 up forms are the official IRS copies, they have to support it.

Has anyone received a solution for this issue? Nothing like having to do the last minute and running into the same issue. What did everyone end up doing?

I received a response last Thursday at 6:15pm CST, response shown below. It is silly because Blackbaud sells the exact same forms on their website. I could have bought their forms and still been in the same place so they should have just referred me to another arm of Blackbaud to start with. I didn't have time to wait for another response to take a week so I typed them on a typewriter. It's terrible customer service.

The format is something that has turned into an issue with several users and there is no way to change the format from our end since that is set through the aatrix software. If you have bought the forms from Blackbaud you can obtain more information on how to have that working properly by contacting a rep at forms@blackbaud.com or through the phone number 866-422-3676.

Hey Angela and anyone else having this issue. After speaking with people at both Blackbaud and Aatrix, and many hours of trying to figure it out on my own…I have a work around for the Federal Form 1099. I print the 3up for the IRS and then go back and reprint what would be the Federal Form but print them on the provided 3up participant form. I could not find any of the 4 parts ANYWHERE in time to get them before the Jan 31st mail date. Our state does not require a state file so if you do, then of course you would need the 4 part. It's all very confusing and I do not believe they made this clear in the “help” section. I attended both 1099 webex classes and not once did they mention this. I even asked the question if they would please show us the print part. The concentrated on the efile only. Never did show us the actual print section. Hope this helps a bit for anyone as frustrated as I have been.
