Check Numbers being missed in NXT

We have had this happen twice since January. We find that a check run starts one number more than our last check would printed, i.e. last check was 111351 but the next check run starts with 111353. If we always check the numbers prior to printing we could catch it and adjust, but why would it automatically jump ahead? Sometimes the double check on numbers doesn't always get done.
