Journal Entry Batch Creator in Excel - Can I import in line order?

Hello! My organization is new to FE NXT but has been using FE7, so we're not so new to Blackbaud. We're trying to implement any new features with NXT, and I came across the Journal Entry Batch Creator in Excel Add-In. We do huge quarterly entries and have been using the old way of importing journal entries to a batch. But I love the concept of importing directly from Excel.

The question - is there a way to import exactly as how the spreadsheet has the lines ordered? I did my first test batch and noticed all the lines were not in the order I had them in Excel. I need them to be ordered exactly how it is laid out. Are there any specific settings or something I'm missing? Thank you!

    Hi Kimberly,

I like the idea of the Excel functionality as well, but after using it a few times, with all the hoops I end up having to jump through, I've found it much simpler to just use database view for large imports. Maybe I'm missing something, though, so I'm also interested in how successful the Excel add-in has been for others!

  • I have been using the JE batch creator for quite awhile and have found that the data uploads exactly as I have it in the spreadsheet.
