Research Primary Investigator Name Change

Hello Community,

For those working with research grants, how do you handle a name change for a primary investigator? Previous grants resulted in published papers under the previous name. New grants will result in published papers with the new name. Do you just change the name in the contact form and not worry about the association with previous publications? BBGM chat help suggested a new field in the contact form of “previous name”. This wouldn't be obvious unless a user dug down into the contact file. Love to hear others' ideas.
