Problems creating a PowerBi tile on NXT homepage

I am trying to add a PowerBi tile to my NXT homepage. I followed the video from the April Developer's Conference 2022 and the PowerBi add-in instructions provided by BB, but it does not seem to be working. I don't see anything on my homepage. Clearly I am missing something. Can you send ideas on how to trouble shoot this?

Here is my code: (I put XXX's in for the report ID as I am not sure if it safe to share)

https://app.blackbaud.com/addin-powerbi-host/tile
?reportId=XXXXXX&title=Hello%20World2&filterPanelEnabled=false&removeInset=true&navContentPaneEnabled=false

Thank you in advance for your help! Eileen

  • @Eileen Wallwork,

Make sure the SKY application containing your add-in is “connected” within your Blackbaud environment. Looking in our internal systems, I can see that your “PowerBi Tile” application has an add-in defined that uses the Power BI Host SPA, but that application is not connected to any environment.

That “connect” step is an admin-level action taken within the Blackbaud Marketplace on the Manage page (since you're an admin, you should see this page).

Hope this helps - let us know if you have any problems getting your Power BI add-in to appear.

Hi Ben, Thank you, that did it!! I am so excited to start using this for our team. I really appreciate your help. Best, Eileen

Hi Ben, I hope you don't mind me piggybacking another question onto this thread. I have been able to get this to work, and am thrilled that the date slicer works on the report. For colleagues who have powerbi but are not RE admins, how do I get this to work through their NXT accounts? If you could point me to directions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!

When you add an add-in definition to your SKY application and get that application “connected” (aka “installed”) in your environment, the add-in should appear for all users when they access the page in RENXT. You shouldn't have to do anything special - but I may not fully understand what you're asking, so if this response doesn't help let me know.

Thank you! It may be. I am remote and don't have easy access to check. Before I try to do via zoom and look foolish, I thought it prudent to consult an expert. Thank you and have a great weekend! Eileen
