I am not sure how I can get my package description to show up in a Power BI report.

I can get the Gift Split Package ID (just a number that has no meaning to a user), but if I ask it for the Appeal Package, it just returns a list of all packages with the same dollar amount for each.

I must be missing something! Maybe the relationship needs to be adjusted?

The Gift Split Package is what you want as it is the package that is recorded for a gift record, but it is just the package's ID. You need to call the Package List API, I don't know if the Blackbaud Power BI connector has this or not, but you are looking for is: https://developer.sky.blackbaud.com/docs/services/58bdd6c8d7dcde06046081d7/operations/ListPackages

Once you got a full table of Packages, it has the id field that maps to the gift split package_id, which now you can get package description.
