Default Transaction codes not populating consistently

In use of NXT of Financial Edge, we have in our test database 2 transaction codes available. One is required and defaulted on income statement accounts. The defaults using NXT are not consistently populating. There is a default set on the fund and on some of the accounts I am testing. In the database view, this defaulting seems to be working. Does anyone know why this would occur and how to fix this for all parts of Financial Edge NXT? This would break our intended use of transaction codes to default to transactions. The system does still indicate a transaction code is required for the 1 of 2 intended transaction codes. Thank you.
