Attendance record create call and class attendance question

Hello,

A question that came from one of our schools is ‘The "Class Attendance" that teachers use to mark students present or absent for the same day do not show these absences. (I believe from watching this section this only updates to show the absence on the day of) Could you confirm this is correct?’

From my understanding, the Attendance record create call should input an absence just like if they were marked in the system for that amount of time (start date/time to end date/time). Is this the case? Would it behave any differently? For example they say that the marks are showing in the big list (sorry I don't know the UI very well) days in advance but for the teachers actually marking, it's not pre-entered or shown.
