Wiring Grants and Tracking

Hi there. Does anyone wire all their grants to the grantees? If so, how do you track it in the grantmaking system? Thanks.

@Angela Hunter we are integrated with Financial Edge, and had Blackbaud create a connector between Grant Making and FE that:
1. sends payment requests to FE which creates in invoice in FE
2. once the payment has been processed in FE (either by wire or paper check) FE sends that information back to GrantMaking
3. This process is initiated by our finance team when they get ready to do AP, so it's semi-automatic once the connector has been run.

The cost for this was relatively reasonable in the fact that it saves us a ton of time.

@Angela Hunter We do! We simply write “WIRE” in the Check # space of our Payment records.

Grant letters have a few different ways:

When we are notifying someone of a declination, we send an electronic email as well as a follow-up physical letter.

When we are notifying someone of an award + contract, that is all done digitally using the grantmaking software.
