Hi All,

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I just wanted to confirm - is it possible to build an outside application that integrates (API) with RE NXT and is able to be enabled by users without previously needing an admin to connect the app?

From all the documentation I can find, it looks like an env admin must first connect the app to the env before ANY user can login/authorize/etc.

No, you can't build an app that calls the API to access customer data without the customer admin first “connecting” your app to their environment (via the Marketplace). The connect step is what unlocks your app's ability to initiate the OAuth process (for an end-user to login and provide consent in the context of the environment).

A subtle exception to this in the SKY Developer Cohort, where your app is virtually "connected" to the environment for the purposes of testing API calls. So you can build/test your app against the Cohort environment without any explicit “connect” step happening in the Marketplace.

Thanks for the response @Ben Lambert! We have some upcoming plans later this year or early next year to provide an explicit permission to enable a user to connect an app. This means that it won't require an admin user to connect the app, but any user with the permission will be able to connect the app.
