Potential client using Database View with RE NXT

Hi there,

Our application supports integrations with the Payments API to allow our customers to process payments with BBMS.

We also support one time and recurring gift creation through our integration and make use of the following RE NXT related APIs:

  • Gift API
  • Constituent API
  • Fundraising API

We have been speaking with a prospect/potential customer that uses Blackbaud and they had asked if our integration will work with their setup.

They currently use Raiser's Edge NXT, but only the Database view to manage things on their end. They said they were contemplating eventually moving to the Web view, but as of now they would like to stay with their current setup.

Will the above APIs still work with an account that uses Database view, or do they need to convert to the Web view in order for our integration with the above APIs to work?

Any and all information around this would be much appreciated.

    @Dylan Hochreiter The organization must have Raiser's Edge NXT to use SKY API. If the organization has Web View but does not ever use it, and instead always uses database view, then that is fine. It is possible to not have RENXT though and only have legacy RE/database view in which case the endpoints would not be accessible.

    @Ashley Moose I think this all makes sense to me.

    I think they do have NXT but just don't use the Web View, but I will verify with the organization to make sure.

    Considering limitations of SKY API, most of orgs work in the hybrid mode - they use NXT web view for some activities and the database view for those “on the roadmap”. Even when it comes to gifts and payments, not all gift types are currently available through SKY API, so while your integration will likely work, it likely will require them so slightly change their processes. For example, gift batches created using SKY API are not visible in the database view until confirmed in NXT web view.
