Questions about Scholarship Recipients

Has anyone here be asked by their advancement department for a list of students who have received outside scholarships?

I am being asked to provide the names, amounts and organizations to the Advancement department, and no one is hearing that there is no report in Blackbaud that provides that information. So now they want a manual report of this information. I am just wondering how common this request is in the higher ed community? Again these are not school scholarships, these are scholarships from outside organizations that students have applied for or been awarded separately from the us, so it is not a donation to the school.

@Crystal Bruce I am also now being asked for this information for Dept of Ed reporting.

The problem is that the only way to get this information is to manually keep it in a spreadsheet outside of Blackbaud.

For Internal Scholarships we utilize the third-party payer section and then simply mark the payment as a scholarship when prompted (student payment, Loan, or scholarship/grant.) There is currently no report that pulls on those parameters. You can't pull or filter for all of the scholarship/grants payments in a list either. This is something that is urgently needed to satisfy Dept of Ed reporting on Value of Education.

@Crystal Bruce I have to take that back! I see that there is now a funding type column. The only other filter I would need to make this perfect is a funding type filter.
