JE posted that is out of balance?

My bank rec is out of balance. When I review cash I see one deposit that has two different JE's; when I go to reverse one and I open it it says “out of balance”, and it won't let me reverse, because it is out of balance! How did it close if it was out of balance??

Is the JE in question actually posted, or only closed and saved? Can you validate it?

@Roberta A Gilbert it is actually posted! There are 2 JE for the same deposit; one is balanced and posted, the other is posted and it clearly says “out of balance” I can't reverse, because it is out of balance. Don't know how it posted..any ideas?

Hi Nancy, you mentioned that it is a deposit. Is it the deposit that is out of balance or the JE batch that was posted OOB?

@Sylvia Cook the deposit posted once; the JE twice! Not sure how the OOB JE posted! I can't reverse it because it's OOB! AHHHHH!

Contact support and have them take a look. This sounds bizarre. Let us know what you find out.

Nancy, have you or anyone else edited your Business Rules recently? That is where FE (NXT or otherwise) is told to balance transactions like JEs, checks, deposits, etc. Not just debits and credits but also funds, net asset classes, etc. I would check Busn Rules and make sure they are still set up correctly. (But talk to support also.)
