Please help me understand Fixed Asset Module. I am newish to FE, I used it years ago, but was using SAGE in the last 4 years so I have questions:

  1. Is this is and add-on or does FE come with it?
  2. How do I activate it? We are using FE for 10 years, but Fixed asset module was never activated. Or do I need to activate it at all?
  3. Can you enter assets with current value and start depreciating in this module? Does it generate a month end JE if we enter in the data?

    1. It is considered an add on. So you'd need to confirm it's part of your package.

    2. If it's part of your package and you're hosted, it should be unlocked. Now if never used it would need to be setup .

    3. Yes you can enter assets with Accumulated Depreciation so you can say how much it's original value has dropped already. If your GL already knows about the depreciation, then you'd set that transaction as do not post so you don't double up on the GL.
