Financial Edge support no longer exists?

I would post this in the Financial Edge discussion and not NXT, but it does not look like that exists anymore. Our organization is still on Financial Edge 7 (not NXT or the database view of NXT). We recently added another user and purchased what we thought was an additional seat for FE7. We have been having trouble getting the additional seat to work. After a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks with support they are now telling us Financial Edge is no longer supported and what we thought was an additional seat purchased for FE7 was actually an additional seat to NXT purchased. Does anyone know if this is actually true? Is Financial Edge 7 no longer supported software? Has it been completely sun-setted and updates are no longer going to be pushed through and we will not be able to get support on this software?

  • @Catherine Britt Hi! You can post your Financial Edge discussion here. We combined the forums, as we were seeing that most members were posting in Financial Edge NXT discussion forums. There is no end of support date for the Financial Edge solution.

  • @Crystal Bruce So the support person telling me they can no longer help us because we have FE7 is not correct?

Correct. FE 7 questions and issues like your user license are still supported. A user license isn't necessarily just a FE7 issue as that is still used in webview as well for FENXT. Support still supports FE7 as well as FENXT webview for the time being.

To my knowledge, FE7 is the database view and the database view is being decommissioned by the end of 2024 for FE and the end of 2025 for RE. Seems like you should have gotten some communication from Blackbaud regarding this. I don't know if they are going to continue to support FE7 for customers who have not upgraded to FENXT but based on how they are forcing this change, I doubt it. Good luck. FENXT isn't perfect but it does have some nice features. I am a long time database user and have finally gotten used to NXT.
