Detailed Trial Balance

Has anyone figured out a way to print a "DETAILED" trial balance in FE? I was told by someone there that you can't. I find it hard to believe such an important document does not exist???

  • @LAURA FRISK Have to ask, what is your definition of detail?

I have a basic report that just has the following columns, account number, account description, beginning balance, total debits, total credits, ending balance. The total debits and credits are based on a date range that I select, which is typically for my fiscal year or whatever fiscal period or YTD period.

This looks to be created from the Reports section in NXT, click the “+ add” and just type in Trial Balance in the type and it should show up.

The Trial Balance report isn't designed for detail. Here is a quick link to it's description : TB Report

If you want detail, you'll want the General Ledger Report. Like the Trial Balance it will give you a beginning balance, ending balance, & totals for Debits / Credits. But it also gives line by line entries to the account. Anytime you're doing a reconciliation and need to find a needle in a haystack, from the GL perspective, the General Ledger report is the best report for that.

  • @Kevin Brazell. I have been trying to get this answer from Blackbaud for months, and they could not tell me this. I can't thank you enough! You are right about finding a needle in a haystack, that is what I am trying to do! :):):)
