Check numbers of out sequence

Hello, has anyone experienced check numbers running out of sequence and adding a digit randomly? Example, our last check number was 576389. When we did an EFT it assigned check number 5312024?? Our check numbers are set to all be in the same number sequence, checks, EFTs, bank draft. ??

First I would not advise having non check items using the same number sequence as your checks, especially if you are using pre printed checks. I would only let compute checks and one time checks from the same bank share their number sequence. That aside, if you go to your bank under the setup of the payment types specifically what is the setting for the numbers? Making sure if they are sharing and not setup independently. If they are set to use a separate number sequence for the different types, EFT, Bank Draft, then the jump in numbers would be expected.

@Kevin Brazell We have been using the same sequence for all the checks, EFTs and bank drafts since before I came on board so I don't think we will change. We don't have pre-printed checks.
