Create multiple batches at once using Journal Entry Batch Add-in

I have multiple journal entries to make, but I do not want them all recorded in a single batch. I would like them to be separate batches. I was wondering if there was a way to use a batch ID to create multiple journal entries at once with the Create JE Batch add-in for FE NXT. Prior to using the add-in I was able to create and import multiple batches at once using database view. It used the batch ID as the unique identifier and imported the entries to each separate batch all at once. I did not have to import multiple times. It was a real time saver doing it that way. Maybe there is a setting for the create journal entry batch add-in I am unaware about to achieve this???

Currently no as the JE add in makes a new single batch each time you click submit. If you want to import multiple batches in one go , you can use the traditional import from Database view and we should see the webview version hitting very soon, that uses the same import templates and parameters. The trick there is to make all the JE's and save them blank so you can get the Batch numbers. Then use those in the import template to guide each row the the JE you'd like it to be in once imported.

  • @Kevin Brazell Thanks! I will wait on the roll out of the web view version. Hopefully I can do the multiple batches at once.

My import function in database view just may not have been working today. I attempted to import today from database view (as I normally do) , but it was unsuccessful. I assumed that the function was decommissioned and we had to use the add-in now.

@Angela Burke, there were some changes there just because Journal Entry was being shut off but you should still be able to use and access import in database view through early next year.

This KB may help clarify for anyone looking to use traditional dbv import right now:
