Merchant Services Comments Field Blank

Has anyone noticed that since Blackbaud Checkout was implemented for payments received through K-12 online registration/order forms that those transaction no longer appear with comments in Merchant Services? For example, when reconciling the Merchant Services report with each disbursement, it is important for us to know what the various payments were for. The comments column in the Merchant Services transaction list would always list the Registration ID number and name of the K-12 online registration/online form so that we could identify the payments as coming from a yearbook purchase form, from the school bookstore, from an online sale some student club is hosting. This is what permits us to allocate these payments to the correct GL accounts and reconciliations. Now that the comments field is blank, there is no way to determine where these funds are coming from. I have an open case with Blackbaud but have not heard back yet.

  • @Geoffrey Goodfellow It is because of this issue that we completely moved away from Blackbaud Merchant Services. We have too many payment links for their offered solution to work for us.

  • As an update, Customer Support did address my open case and confirmed that this is a product defect. They plan to have the comment column clearly identifying the source of the payment to be restored again in a future patch, likely at the beginning of February.
